Bernardo O'Higgins National Park

One of the funkiest New Year's ever.  The sun didn't set until about 10:30 and twilight had just ended when we entered 2013.  I got a chance to check out the southern stars pretty well.  Spent a long time just trying to identify the Southern Cross.  Eventually got it all sorted out and found the south celestial pole and even nabbed one of the Magellanic Clouds in my binoculars. Hope to do more observing tonight.
Today we boarded a beautiful catamaran and headed up the fjord into Bernardo O'Higgins National Park.  On the way saw lots of glaciers and waterfalls, big mountains and some wildlife.  Our destination was Serano Glacier and we hiked to the bottom of it and watched and listened as chunks of ice occasionally broke off.  Tomorrow we head for Torres del Paine National Park.

Your pictures are beautiful! Missed you at Meg's Birthday celebration. The twins loved playing with Jackson and Tim. A lot of hide and seek going on.
