Spent the day at Mt. St. Helens.
They had a fantastic visitor center lots of interactive information about geology and volcanoes. They had a beautiful theater in which they show a movie about the eruption. In it they had audio of the last transmission from David Johnston, a volcanologist that was observing the volcano when it erupted. It made us all a bit squeamish, especially Stella.
If you look carefully you can see steam in the lava dome that has been forming since the eruption in 1980. Still growing, still hot under there.
