the long way home

We thought it would be fun to drive down to where the fishing boats come in with their catch. There were some beefy looking boats down there. Zach is standing behind one in the picture. It sure looks like a tough way to make a living.

Bill and I decided that it might be fun to walk back home. Zach and Justin drove home with Grammie and G. We walked along the shoreline for a while. Sometimes along sandy beaches, sometimes scrambling over big boulders, sometimes trying to avoid the nasty patches of rotting seaweed and crab carcasses. When the shoreline became unpassable we took to the road. We stopped off at Iggy's Seafood Shack and got clam strips and fries and ate them at a picnic table. Ohhh sooooo good!
We saw a for sale sign on one little house. It said, "FREE: House Only - you take it away". It was cute. Anybody want it?

When we got back to the house we looked at a map to see the path we took. If we had gone around the other side of this little peninsula-like bit of land we are on, we would have cut our trip easily in half. We started at Sand Hill Cove went around Point Judith and up to Scarborough State Beach. Definetly the long way home, but sometimes it's just better that way.
