Pacific Beach

Pacific Beach is this very quiet beach town on the Washington coast.  Two gas stations, a kite store, coffee shop and The Wacky Warehouse.  The Wacky Warehouse seemed to be an old hardware store converted to a flea market.  Books, records, plumbing supplies, VHS tapes, clothes, furniture, 20-year old electronics.  They also had a radio station and open mic night.

With the camping nearly on the beach we decided to stay for four nights.  We had no hookups but our solar panel kept the battery topped off and then some.  There was some ash from the fires happening in Washington and Oregon but that was only really noticeable on one day.

The big surprise was that we showed up during a kite festival.  We dug out a few kites Rob gave us while cleaning out the fishing store and got them up in the air.  They flew fine but did not compare to the rest of the kites.  A walk up to the kite store fixed that.
